Our
Philosophy
We believe that each child is “fearfully and wonderfully made” by God
(Ps. 139), and each has been made with a special purpose in life.
Master’s Academy seeks to build academic proficiency and to direct
students in the discovery of their specific talents, personality traits,
and interests for the purpose of career exploration, selection, and
apprenticeship in a chosen field. We also believe that the parents are
the primary teachers and influence in the life of a child Parents and
grandparents are welcome and encouraged to participate in school
functions and projects (Deut. 4:9; ll:19). Further, we acknowledge that
God has made children as individuals; therefore, each student’s
educational plan should be individually designed with their personal
needs addressed. A small group setting is necessary to allow such a
design. Our purpose is to remain a small, individualized, traditional
classroom program with professional guidance and instruction. Moreover,
we recognize that there are many valuable teaching resources available
outside the classroom. It is imperative that these resources not be
wasted; instead, we should allow students to learn from them and receive
credit for the instruction. Specially designed plans have been
formulated to allow controlled outside instruction to benefit high
school students towards graduation requirements when appropriate.
Master’s
Academy believes in ministering to the total person. It is, therefore,
necessary to provide a high quality education, both spiritually and
academically, to the students of the Southwest Dallas area. The primary
objective and purpose of the school is to provide a sound academic
education, integrated with a Christian view of God and the world.
Children should be educated at home and at school with the consciousness
that all truth is God’s truth, including history, geography, science,
math and the arts, and that Jesus Christ is central in all learning and
living.
Master’s Academy offers
parents and students an alternative to the public schools. The primary
reason for our existence is to offer a Christian foundation upon which
the minds of children are developed. Character training is an important
element to the school’s program. We believe that the heart of character
training is obedience, which will eventually cultivate an inner
self-discipline that is essential to the emotional, physical, social and
spiritual well-being of the student. To obey, to do right, and to love
God and country are attitudes for which we strive
