Master's Academy Dress Code
Since a student’s apparel affects the atmosphere of the school, Master’s Academy requires modesty and neatness in dress. Master’s dress code includes clothing available at the Southwest Uniform Company in DeSoto, TX or local department stores. Extra and outerwear items with required logos can be ordered from the Southwest Uniform Company, (972) 223-5469.

Guidelines for School Uniform Dress Code:

  1. Pants (Regular uniform pants):
    • Pleated or non-pleated woven fabric
    • cuffed or non-cuffed.
    • in-set pockets (top-stitched pockets allowed on shorts).
    • with or without elastic band.
    • belt required if pants have belt loops.
    • Pants must fit at the waist. Pants may not be worn below the waist.
    • Pants must fit properly--not too tight or too large.
    • Pants must be neatly hemmed and cannot touch the floor. Frays or slits at hem or pockets not allowed.
    • Pants must be without logos or designs.
    • Capri pants are acceptable for the girls (ankle length).
    • Fabric:
      • Woven fabric--twill wrinkle free fabric preferred.
      • No stretchy fabric—knit, velour, jersey, spandex, etc.
      • No denim, nylon, slinky, or chambray fabric—any color (special days will be allotted for jean wear).
    • Colors:
      • Solid colored pants in Khaki, Navy, Black, or Gray—no stripes.
  2. Shorts, Modesty Skirt (Long Skort), and Culottes:
    • Pant Requirements apply to shorts as well.
    • Shorts allowed daily (except for chapel days) from August to October, and April and May.
    • The leg inseam must measure six inches or more.
    • Skorts or Culottes must be to the top of the knee.
  3. Shirts And and Blouses—must be tucked in at all times:
    • Collared shirt--buttoned down style or polo style.
    • Turtlenecks and mock turtlenecks are allowed.
    • Knit or woven fabric—no denim, flannel, chambray, slinky, or sweatshirt fabric. No tight fitting, thin see-through or low-cut shirts/blouses.
    • Any color, any acceptable print or stripe, and any brand name (No slogans, pictures. No logos bigger than 3”long.)
    • No T-shirts, rounded or square neck blouses or shirts on regular days.
    • Stain release treated fabric heavyweight wrinkle proof. 60% Cotton/40% Polyester preferred. Oxford dress shirts are suggested.
  4. Extras and Outerwear Guidelines:
    • The school’s logo will be required on all cardigans (sweaters), fleece jackets, vests, or sweater vests except for Chapel dress.
    • Outdoor jackets will not be worn in the classroom. Parent’s choice of outdoor jackets.
    • No Hooded sweatshirts for outerwear or for classroom wear. (Classrooms can be cold anytime of the year. A school cardigan is suggested for all students. Contact Southwest Uniform Company for logo items.)
    • School logo pullover sweatshirts are available for daily wear.
  5. Skirts, Culottes, Dresses And and Jumpers:
    • Knee length (or longer) skirts, jumpers, or culottes can be worn on weekdays with a polo shirt or button down blouse.
    • Skirts or jumpers can be worn with appropriate shirt/blouses any day of the week including chapel days. Dresses on chapel days only.
  6. Socks And and Shoes:
    • Socks must be worn at all times except when wearing sandals.
    • Shoes will be left to the discretion of the parents and students except for
      the following guidelines—No beach type flipflops, No tennis shoes on
      Wednesday.
    • Shoes should be well kept and appropriate to blend with the school dress
      requirement.
    • Students must wear their shoes at all times.

Wednesday Chapel Dress Code:

On the designated chapel day or special days, students are required to dress up. Girls will wear a dress or a skirt and blouse and casual shoes.  Boys will wear dress shirts, slacks, ties, and casual shoes. Special dress shirts with Tux-type stand up collars can be worn without a tie. No Tennis shoes or polo shirts on Chapel day. The same twill pants used the other days of school will be acceptable for boys on chapel days. Unless worn with a matching skirt, blouses must be tucked in. Blouses must be long enough to be tucked in or to cover the mid-drift when lifting arms or bending over (at least mid-hip length). Nice cardigans, suit type jackets, sweater vests or vests are appropriate—school logo is not required on chapel day to allow for variety in “dress clothes.”

Other Guidelines:

  1. All clothing must be wrinkle-free, clean, and not faded, thin nor dingy.
  2. No glitter, tattoos, stickers, writing or drawings, or strange colors on the
    body or hair; no ear rings on boys; no extreme jewelry.
  3. Each student’s body and hair is to be clean and neat. 
  4. Boys’ hair length should be at or above the top of the collar and out of the eyes. Extreme haircuts will not be allowed.
  5. Boys will limit facial hair to neatly trimmed mustaches only.
  6. No hats please (girls or boys).
